RICHARDSON, Texas – Bailey Tisdale tied a single-game program record with 10 strikeouts, helping the Concordia Texas softball team to a sweep of Austin College over the weekend, and was named the American Southwest Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Tisdale, a transfer from Texas Women’s University, made herself right at home in her Tornado debut.
The Santa Fe, Texas native tossed five scoreless innings, not allowing a Roos runner until a walk in the fourth inning as CTX battered AC 21-0 on Saturday. She finished the day giving up only one hit and struck out 10 hitters, including striking out the side to end the game in the fifth.
The 10 strikeouts tie the program’s single-game record which was initially set by Simone Langland back in 2018. She is the first Tornado pitcher to earn conference pitcher of the week honors since Taylor Gruell earned the distinction last season.
Concordia Texas will next take the field on Feb. 13 when they will travel down to Houston to face St. Thomas (TX) in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
