The Storm Lake boys basketball team made thirteen 3-pointers in their 70-47 win over Alta-Aurelia Saturday afternoon at Tornado Fieldhouse.
Mark Eddie buried five three pointers and scored all 17 of his points in the first half helping the Tornadoe’s build a 32-18 lead at the half. Sam Dvergsten made four 3-pointers and scored 11 points in a two minute stretch at the end of the third quarter as the Tornadoes blew the game open 57-29 after three quarters. Austin Gaffney and Sam Slight each made a pair of 3’s for the green and white. Slight and Dvergsten finished with 14 points each, and Gaffney had ten.
Storm Lake is now 9-7 overall and will play Monday night at Sioux City-West.
The Warriors, now 13-5, were led in scoring by Tanner Randall who went 3-for-6 from the arc and finished with 11.
